Title: Probing dark matter halos with gravitational lensing

Speaker: Priya Natarajan

I will present a synopsis of current work on modelling the mass distribution of dark matter halos in a variety of environments: dense cluster regions, groups, to the field, probed using the techniques of gravitational lensing. The results from these analyses that combine strong and weak gravitational lensing observations provide new insights into the detailed distribution of dark matter, enabling us to understand better the relation of baryons to dark matter.

Lunch with the students will be on Friday, December 7 at 12:00 in A-101.
