Title: Infrared Spectroscopy of Galactic Nuclei

Speaker: Reinhard Genzel, Max Planck Inst., Garching

Abstract: An overview will be given of recent ground-based imaging spectroscopy and the first Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) spectroscopy of Galactic nuclei. Issues that will be covered are properties of starburst galaxies, the EUV spectral energy distribution of AGNs, and the nature of ultra-luminous infrared galaxies.
