Title: Bok Prize Lecture:
Piecing Together Reionization

Abstract: The "reionization era," in which early generations of galaxies ionized hydrogen in the intergalactic medium just a few hundred million years after the Big Bang, is a prime target of many existing and future telescopes, but for now it remains poorly understood. I will describe the existing observational constraints on this era and their implications for galaxy formation, as well as how future observations will improve our picture. I will also describe how detailed observations of helium reionization can help unravel some of the mysteries of reionization physics and the quasar era.
