Overview
The successful applicant will lead and participate in survey operations and science analysis of deep-field imaging and spectroscopic surveys with the James Webb Space Telescope, most immediately with the JADES survey.
Applicants with previous experience in the study of high-redshift galaxy evolution and/or cosmological reionization are encouraged to apply. Pertinent methodological experience includes data reduction and analysis of optical/IR imaging and spectroscopy, particularly with JWST, statistical methods for large data sets, and utilization of cosmological simulations.
Resources include access to large JWST-based data sets as well as observational capabilities with the MMT and Magellan telescopes. Professor Eisenstein is also a senior Investigator in the NSF AI Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Fundamental Interactions (IAIFI).
The position is for two years, renewable for a third year upon mutual agreement. The nominal starting date will be January 1, 2024, but an earlier or later start is negotiable.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in astronomy, physics, or equivalent, by the date of appointment.

- Contact your references. Make sure that they are available to submit the reference and are willing to write a letter on your behalf.
