Online admissions materials are due 6 weeks before the proposed start date of appointment:
- Endorsement Form by an SAO Advisor
- Department Head Approval Letter
- Summary of Previous and Current Research
- Curriculum Vitae
- Research Proposal
- Transcript of Grades (must be sent from your Registrar's Office directly to SAO by email or snail mail)
- Three Reference Letters
Note: We are unable to upload reference letters to applications. Consequently, it is critical that applicants list the names and contact information for each reference writer in the application before contacting your references.
The application link may be obtained through an SAO Advisor who has agreed to support the applicant's candidacy through an endorsement form uploaded to SAO Predoctoral Program application.

NOTE: SAO ISSUES J-1 VISAS TO FELLOWSHIP RECIPIENTS.The SAO will not be able to issue you an alternative type of visa at the time of your appointment or during your tenure at SAO if you can no longer renew your J visa or have reached the maximum time limitation of this particular visa type.
