Astrophysical data exploration with Glue
Chris Beaumont, SAO Predoctoral Fellow

Abstract: Most research in astrophysics revolves around making sense of data spread over many files. Most of the astronomy's best visualization tools, however, are focused on exploring single files. In this talk, I will discuss Glue, a python visualization and analysis library that I've been developing with others at the CfA. Glue's design goal is to make it easy for researchers to think about and examine all of the data relevant to their research project. I will philosophize about scientific workflows for a bit, demo Glue's design, and discuss it's recent successes in understanding star formation data.
