Christopher Moriarty

Chris has worked as a professional software engineer since 2006, starting out working his first six years in industry. He obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida, writing a thesis on using machine learning to model human behavior. His career has taken him through large scale full cycle web development to artificial intelligence research and finally into astronomy operations and research. Prior to joining the CfA as a Computer Engineer, Chris worked at STScI for six years as a Senior Systems Software Engineer on the Astronomer's Proposal Tool, and the Software Engineering Lead for the Makidon Optics Lab. Joining the CfA in 2018, he's now an SAO Computer Engineer for the Submillimeter Array taking the influential roles of software architect and project engineer.
