About DAS 40
DAS 40 includes important calibration updates as well as a number of improvements and
new features. It is strongly recommended that all users download this newest version
Calibration changes include a new time-dependent calibration scheme,
which incorporates radiometric and pointing calibration changes. Radiometric calibration
changes have been substantial for small apertures since the start of the mission.
Other additions include many interface updates and IDL compatibility updates.

Download the latest DAS
the NEW DAS40 software, including latest calibration and catalog files as a tar.Z file
If you have an existing DAS 40 installation and wish to update your calibration or catalog
latest calibration files (including latest auxiliary crosstalk files) as a tar.Z file
- download the appropriate tar.Z file(s) below
- extract the files via uncompress -c filename | tar xvf -
- copy files (overwriting old files if necessary) to appropriate the directory within your DAS installation:
- DAS40/CAL/ for calibration and auxiliary xtalk files
- DAS40/TABLES/ for UVCS catalog tables

The UVCS/SOHO Data Analysis Software (DAS)
and calibration and help files are also available from the SOHO
Software Web Site, and are included in the SolarSoft package.
DAS 40 is compatible with IDL 5.3 through the latest version tested (6.1.1).
Version 40 of the DAS has a calibration scheme that is incompatible with the
previous calibration scheme. This difference leads to some important points:
SSW USERS: If you are running under SSW, you must run the DAS in its "DPS"
directory just as if you were running it outside of SSW. The easiest
way to do this is "cd $SSW_UVCS/DPS" from your unix prompt before entering
- Old calibrated data files cannot be read by the new DAS, and new
calibrated files cannot be read with the old DAS (an error will result).
You must recalibrate from the raw data.
- Old and new calibration files are only compatible with their
respective DAS version.
