Image Stabilization System
Image Stabilization System:
The image stabilization system provides the important final step in the
process of removing image motion to the required level (0.01 arcsec stability).
The system consists of a 2 axis momentum isolated mirror mount supporting
the secondary mirror. During the observation the image stabilization system
tips the mirror in response to measurements of the apparent solar limb
position to keep the science image stationary on the CCD.
The image stabilization system is discussed as part of the pointing
control system summary.
