Stars with known Exoplanets

Below is a list of stars with known exoplanets (source: www.exoplanet.eu). Only stars visible on Mt. Hopkins are listed.

The estimated RV uncertainty is calculated from the numbers in Butler's paper, taking into account the difference of the telescope diameter. I also assumed the integration time = 10 minutes. Several factors were not included:
1. Butler uses the spectral band of 500 nm - 600 nm. We may use different bands with different bandwidth. The spectral features and the spectral density of the photon flux are different. Those factors, however, are temperature dependent.
2. I assumed that we are photon shot noise limited.
3. The resolving power (R) of Hires is 70,000 and the R of TRES is 40,000.
