Primary Research Interests

I am interested in addressing the technical challenges of forthcoming wide-field radio arrays, in particular calibration and wide-field imaging. This includes both algorithm development and real-time, distributed processing and hardware acceleration. I am part of the real-time software development group for the Murchison Widefield Array, where a heterogeneous cluster consisting of a Linux/MPI harness with GPU compute nodes is used to achieve several 10s of TFLOPS/s under the power constraints of the remote WA outback.

My primary research goal is the detection at low radio frequencies of redshifted 21cm emission from neutral Hydrogen during the epoch of reionisation. Other areas of research include pulsar surveys and RFI mitigation.
