MIRAC2 Setup

IRTF


The MIRAC cable is strung along the ventilation duct supports along the wall from the control room to the south end of the telescope pier.


A large loop in the cable is made from the walkway support to the yoke.


The cable is strung under the west part of the yoke, then a loop is made to the edge of the MIM.


A foam block is strapped under the electronics box to support it when the system is removed from the telescope for the cryogen fills.

UKIRT


This shows the setup in the UKIRT control room. The MIRAC power supply is at the left, a UKIRT telescope terminal in the center, and the MIRAC PC keyboard and screen at the right.

MIRAC mounted on the west port of UKIRT. The cable is looped from the cass. mounting surface to allow for cryogen fills and strain relief. The cable is allowed to slide on the observatory floor.
