I am working with Alicia Soderberg to determine the progenitor properties of stripped-envelope core-collapse (Type Ibc) supernovae and their relationship with gamma ray bursts (GRBs). We look for new examples of these exotic transients in the ongoing Pan-STARRs1 survey and make multiwavelength follow-up observations to investigate the properties of the explosions and their host environments.

As a Ph.D. student, I have helped to develop and lead a variety of science education and outreach programs to foster interest in astronomy and related disciplines at all age levels. I graduated from Michigan State University with bachelor's degrees in physics and astrophysics in May, 2010.
