Research Associate Appointments and Reappointments

Procedure

A copy of the appointment letter, curriculum vitae, and justification should be sent to Charles Alcock with a copy to Susan Hessenthaler (click here to send an email to both). The attached appointment letter should be complete and in the .doc or .docx file format. Please see Smithsonian Directive 205 for greater detail on Research Associate Appointments and Reappointments.

Please indicate in the email whether a hard copy or .pdf of the signed appointment letter is preferred.

An information pamphlet must be included with the signed appointment letter when given to the research associate. The information pamphlet can be found here.

A copy of the appointment letter, curriculum vitae, and justification will need to be sent to the Office of Research, Training, and Services at the address below and also to SAO Human Resources at MS-17.
