Breaking the Password on the CMOS settings

Curse the action of the person who put the password there in the first place.

1.

Open up the unit and remove the battery. Good luck: it sits below the floppy drive and is about half the height of a AA battery.

2.

Remove the AT-bus adapter.

3.

Under the AT-bus adapter you will find capacitor C17.

4.

Short across that capacitor.

5.

Reassemble everything, and reboot.

6.

Since it lost power briefly, it will complain that the battery is dead. Don't worry, just enter your settings.
