Dr. Heesung Chong is a Physicist in the Atomic and Molecular Physics Division at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian. His research interests lie primarily in atmospheric radiative transfer, local to global air quality, trace gas retrieval, and satellite instrument characterization. He is an investigator on NASA's MEaSUREs project to build long-term satellite data records for trace gas concentrations and NASA’s geostationary satellite mission to monitor air quality in North America, TEMPO (Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution).
Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences (Yonsei University), B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (Yonsei University)
