About
Michael Foley is a graduate student working with Alyssa Goodman and Lars Hernquist on star formation and turbulence. His thesis will focus on investigating the role of shock-turbulence interactions in star formation. Outside of research, he is passionate about science education and communication, working with the AAS Education Committee, Astrobites, ComSciCon, and WorldWide Telescope. He holds a B.S. in physics and mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. In his free time, he enjoys literature, soccer, volleyball, chess, and traveling. If you are a high school student or undergraduate considering graduate school or research in astronomy, feel free to email him with any questions or concerns you may have.
