Interplanetary Shock Database Sponsors

The continuing analysis of interplanetary shocks and the operation of this web site is supported by two NASA research grants. I am working with Prof. Cynthia Cattell (University of Minnesota), who is Principle Investigator of a NASA Solar and Heliospheric Physics grant "The Microphysics of Interplanetary Shocks", which aims to compare radio emission and particle velocity distribution functions with shock properties. I am also working with Dr. Christina Cohen (Caltech), who is PI of a NASA Living With a Star grant to study particle acceleration at shocks.

Conversion of derived shock parameters into a format that can be read automatically by users of the Virtual Heliospheric Observatory is supported by a VHO grant led by Dr. Adam Szabo of NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
